Shay’s Dreams for the future

The Dream Machine

There are hundreds of special children all over Ireland who because of their terrible illness are confined to their home or hospital and for the most part are forgotten in their own communities.   Share a Dream has designed a really magical “Dream Machine” which travels all over the country to sick children.  If they can’t get to us then we will bring their dream to their very door step” said Shay Kinsella founder.

The Dream Machine has a wonderful colourful themed interior and exterior of marine life, music, arts complete with lights and full music system it amazes all who see it.  An emporium full of things like aqua bubble lamps, fibre optics, Xbox, V-tech video games, V-tech story books, a green screen, books, games, an interactive fish tank and VAIO touch screen computer. It has to be seen to be believed!  See the inside…..

SONY partners with the Dream Machine:  Now Sony Ireland have come on board to make the Dream Machine even more adaptable to every special child that enters inside by adding one of their Sony VAIO touch screen computers.

All children are entitled to a happy active childhood but not all children are so lucky. Childhood for some can be short lived, full of disappointment, pain, loneliness and fear. Unless you have a child or know of a child who is fighting a terrible illness or disability deprived of the simplest of pleasures like ‘play’ then it’s impossible to fully appreciate how difficult life can be for these children in Ireland.

Play is vitally necessary to a child’s health and full development. All children learn to live life through play and according to all world experts in this field ‘play’ is essential to all round development of children, especially children with a disability.  When children play, they learn. Whether they are learning to move and control their bodies more smoothly, thinking through a problem at a new level of understanding, using their language skills more effectively, or increasing their abilities to get along with others, children are learning through play.

However, Share a Dream are committed to developing a very unique Fun Centre where no child regardless of their illness or disability will feel different and they will get the opportunity to play and get back to the serious business of just being kids and having fun.  It will be a magical place where just for a short time these children will forget about their painful treatments, hospitalisation, loneliness, disappointments and fears. They can trade them in for fun, laughter, friendship, love and sacks full of happy memories. The Fun Centre will be called Dreamland and will be built in the Mid West region. The Share a Dream Foundation wants to display Limerick and the Mid West region as a loving and caring community reaching out a hand of love and friendship to disabled children and their families

It is a major challenge but so worthwhile. The Foundation cannot do this on it’s own but we know we will receive the support of the entire community because they care and it needs to be done. You can play your part in bringing a little magic, something into the lives of every special child in this region and from all over Ireland. If you would like to help make the Dream come true then we would love to hear from you.
