Christopher, who is a vastly experienced diving instructor and has his own diving school, http://www.atlanticdivingschool.ie/, (also a volunteer search diver with the Civil Defence) decided to attempt a World Record 10 km dive in order to raise money for the foundation. This would become a new record with no-one having attempted such a dive before.

That March (2011) Christopher began training for the World Record with amazing focus, with daily physical training (both on land and in the water), hospital visits and running his own business Christopher developed a strong discipline towards his goal. Combined with the help and support of trusted friends and professionals he mapped out his targets and worked towards them.

In his new book you will read the highs and lows of Christopher’s journey to setting a New Guinness World Record, the physical trials of the first failed attempt and the jubilation of a successful second attempt…. and most importantly the happy ending that we all love. Yes, once again this year we’ve been asked back to the RDS Concert Hall in Dublin to host our mega Dream concert for special children all over Ireland!

An exciting event with an onstage concert full of popstars, boybands, girlbands as well as gymnastic displays, the fire brigade, army, gardai, helicopters etc.  As well as many delicious goodies on the day! Definitely an event not to be missed.

Kilisha’s day began when Kilisha and her family (all eight of them) travelled to Athlone by special Garda escort and stayed in the fabulous 4 star Sheraton Hotel.  Kilisha after some refreshments met her two ladies in waiting and three Bodyguards.  Then in true model style it was into one of her two BMWs to start her day!  First stop Sherbert Kids boutique for 2 gorgeous outfits and shoes. Then off to ColorStarz Salon for a fab hairdo and even the bodyguards got a quick was done!  Then make-up and nails and some pampering at Geraldine’s Beauty Salon.  After a hectic morning a bite of lunch was then in order at Quiqley’s Restaurant.  Back to the hotel and after a much needed rest and a delicious dinner in the Harvest Café then it was time to get ready for the finale that evening when Kilisha strutted her stuff on the catwalk.

Kilisha in true model style walked the catwalk accompanied by celebrity Jamie Lang of “Made In Chelsea” and her little sister Chloe and mum Siobhan modelling her outfit at the Cause for Fashion show for a couple of hundred guests who gave her a standing ovation.  It was a dream come true for Kilisha and her family.

This is how the National Children of Courage Awards make a difference. Through the years of working with children who are suffering from life-threatening illness, chronic disease and disability, Share a Dream has been struck by one trait, which these children consistently share and this is Courage. And we realise that such courage in the face of such challenges must not go unrewarded and so we have established the National Children of Courage Awards.

For the past 10yrs Share a Dream has received thousands of nominations from all over Ireland. Every year we have the extremely difficult and heart-breaking task of choosing eight Children of Courage from all these exceptionally brave and courageous children who have been nominated.

At the “Dream Ball” every year each of these 8 courageous children are given a Share a Dream “National Child of Courage” award. As part of their prize they travel on a magical VIP trip along with their parents to experience some fun and happiness for the first time in a very long time.

If you know of a child with serious life threatening illness or serious disability who has shown extraordinary courage, then why not nominate them for a Share a dream “National Children of Courage Award”.
