Garda for the Day

6yr old Dylan Steele from Laois became a Real Garda for the Day at the Ireland vs Italy game at Aviva Stadium on Saturday 25th February. Dylan was sworn into the Gardai, presented with his special uniform and high vis jacket and took on all the duties of a real garda for the day. Driving in the public order van checking cars, attending a real Garda Briefing with the Superintendent, doing a check of Aviva stadium and marching with the Garda Band at the rugby match. Later Dylan and his family watched the game in the Supporters Box.It was a dream come true for Dylan and his family who stayed at the Sandymount Hotel. A big thanks to the Garda Press Office, Garda Siochana, IRFU Supporters Club, Aviva and the Sandymount hotel for making this dream very special.
